My experience with a skyjacker 2.5” lift and 35” tires on stock rims
I'm 6'9" with a long torso, and I've always wanted a wrangler but just couldn't fit. This is great news!
Likely a problem that existed, that was only exacerbated by the new addition. Been using Hot Shot for years, and never had any trouble.
except i point out in the video and multiple times in these comments that the truck ran perfect before this so it was not a preexisting issue
@@omgbbqcia911 I've been working on my vehicles for 40 years, and have noted multiple times when a new addition has resulted in unforeseen problems.
Moral of the story dont use additives. My dad had a 7.3 with almost 300k on it before selling it, my 6.0 had 230k before being totaled never used an additive. Proper maintenance on time everytime he changes his oil at 3k i did mine at 5k none of this 7500-10k crap.
Meh. I run archoil with every oil change, always have, always will. The only reason the 7.3 crowd trashes on the 6.0 is because they didn't have enough brain cells to work on the 6.0.
Wow, so my dream of owning a Jeep as a tall person can come true!? Which Jeeps are compatible , and where is the link ?
How do you install the defroster switch?
Even though my jeep was a factory soft top jeep it had the rear defrost button already, it just didnt do anything until the dealership added the hard top codes one of which being for the rear defrost
Bro hot shots ddnt do it bud if u dnt know about desials how do u know hot shots did it lol 😆 bro u had bad injectors when u open itup u will c
I cant take your input seriously when you dont know how to spell 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
As everyone else has said, it was not the Hotshot. It could be a number of things causing your issues. Bad batteries, bad FICM, bad injectors, weak HPOP, HPOP leak (especially pre 05 motors) leaking stand pipes or dummy plugs. There are so many possibilities that you basically have to test everything ive listed above to root out the problem. Dont just start throwing parts at it. That will be a big mistake. By the way, most 6.0s will run rough until the oil warms up, thanks to the genesuises at Ford engineering.
Another thing, you need to learn to work on it or you'll end up spending gobs of money. If you do take it in. Use a reputable independent shop. Never got to the stealership.
except for it ran perfectly before adding HSS and ran like garbage the first start up after HSS. so it was the HSS
and as other people have commented, i am not the only person who has had issues after adding HSS sooooo ;)
nothing like working with clean steel!!!
When is it gonna get warmer where you you are?? Pedal pumping FREEEEK here !! ❤❤❤
SO…. You only have had the truck since November 2022. You performed your first oil change since owning the truck, you added an additive. You replaced the turbo at some point. And then you noticed a problem at cold temperatures. Does it have a block heater? Two injectors running codes, replaced all 8 at the dealership, along with a clogged oil cooler. And experiencing oil leaks around a glow plug. So one year (one season) of ownership and you put Hot Shot Secrets on blast? No dude, you got a used 20 year old truck with issues and you are shifting the blame on a reputable company. Nice truck.
Your profile picture is the same face i made while losing brain cells reading this comment 😂😂 So allow me to decimate this comment for you. here we go: - Truck ran fine before HSS, ran like garbage immediately after HSS. - truck started perfect and ran great in any temperature (including temps far colder than were present upon the first start after the HSS was added) from Nov. 2022 when acquired until Oct. 2023 when the turbo was replaced and oil was changed and HSS added. upon the FIRST startup after HSS was added, the engine ran fine for a minute or two, then started running like garbage. going forward, the truck would barely start even in 40+ degree temps even with the truck plugged in, and would not be drive-able until the oil reached above 120ish degrees. which was a running condition that never happened prior to HSS. Additionally now the truck was throwing codes for 2 of the Injectors, which prior to HSS there were no injector codes. - weeks after this running issue began, one of the o-rings around the electrical connector for one of the glow plugs began leaking oil. this was the catalyst to have the truck taken to the Dealership where they replaced all 8 injectors, replaced the o-ring on the glow plug connectors, and replaced the oil cooler while they were in there at my request. -After the work was completed, the truck was back to the same perfect running condition it was in prior to the oil change and adding the HSS. so yes, HSS ruined my 6.0 powerstroke, and you have been rekt 😂
youtube clearly recognized my greatness and put the superior jeep in the thumbnail
You have a lot of work to do!! Jeeplife
I have had my 03 F250 CCSB Lariat for 3yrs now and it ran ok when I first bought it. Within the first year, the unknown 58V FICM failed and burnt the injector harness. New 48V FICM with a PHP Atlas 40 tune and new harness had it running again. It still didn't start very well cold so I tried hotshots stiction eliminator. Within a month 2 injectors completely stopped working. I replaced all 8 with Holders Premiums and another oil change without stiction eliminator. She has run great for nearly 2yrs now. I drive this truck everywhere daily and it has been very reliable.
I can't believe I drove my JL for 3 years without realizing how easy this was to do. I was about to sell it and go back to a JK or get my first TJ. You're an absolute life saver for posting this video, man.
always happy to help!
4" downpipe isn't worth the fight trying to install over a 3.5" especially if you're under 700 rwhp.
The 4” from banks that i installed was very easy was not a fight at all. Making it easier for your turbo to breathe is never a bad thing regardless of power level. The more air you can get out, the more air you can get in
@omgbbqcia911 Wow, well congrats. Your the first person I've heard say they got a 4" downpipe in without having to hammer it to fit or it just rubbing
@@APGJuggernaut banks makes good stuff 🦾
I installed a 4 inch turbo back on my 06. It wasn't that all that difficult to do, but I agree that the difficulty involved outweighed the benifit. It's neglible at best. Id rather go with a cat back 5 inch. Minus the kitty.
@bobgreen2000 I installed a 4" Cat-Back and 3.5" downpipe. The Cat-Back was easy, just a little adjustment. The downpipe was fairly easy too but i can imagine a 4" downpipe giving someone fits.
Do you by chance have a link to the down pipe on where you got it
Haven't watched more than a minute but looks like you have the DDI slammers & probably jackers 😂. Im only 6'4 but all back... i have the 2inch slam and still hit 2 inches above the plastic (and barely grazing the tops). SOOOO I'm brainstorming some ideas, because im pretty sure they designed these jeeps to be driven by teenage girls.... i dislike how DDI lays their fitment recommendations out (all inseam). Well i have a short inseam so i feel like they need to be redefine their go by based on seat to top of your head when it comes to headroom. There it is. Just heard it, Seat Slammers 😂
I'm sure lots of people will say this, but the additive isn't what caused it.
ya know, you are right. and you and everyone else commenting that is wrong LMAO 😆
Sounds to me you just had some bad luck bud!
Stiction is a coating or film from oil build up on the spool valve caused by high milage Usually when one injector fails due to stiction the others are close to dropping also you probably had one dead injector and didn't notice till the second died. What's your FICM voltage at cold start? Id also look at fuel pressure. Id keep my eye on those before id blame Hot Shots I know the HEUI system fairly well
ill blame HSS all day long. truck started right up in the cold with one glow plug cycle every time before HSS. after the HSS the truck would barely run. so yeah HSS was the problem
Just did this along with the seat slammers.. absolute game changer. Its unfortunate we have go to these lengths to be comfortable in the rigs that we love.
I have to say the hotshot secrets is not the issue. I have used that in multiple trucks. 2 6.0s late 04 my personal truck for over two years. A buddies 2006. No issues at all. Ive used it in my expedition with the 4.6 triton with nearly 400k miles on it. Even a mustang! The first gen 6.0 engines were terrible.
just because you havent had an issue. doesnt mean someone else cant have an issue. best not to be ignorant ;)
Nut Sacks?……..You blamed the unreliability of the Ford 6.0L on an oil additive. Where’s your data that proves this is what ruined your injectors? It’s not a hate comment, it’s a fact that the Ford 6.0L is the most unreliable motor ford has ever produced. You can read Fords data yourself. 11:42
I’ve run this product in my power stroke since I’ve had it and had nothing but positive results along with thousands of other users. Sounds like it’s another example of a failed 6.0. How did you come to the conclusion that this product ruined your truck? 6.0L is the worst motor ford has ever produced
6.0s are just fine. its really simple actually, especially if you actually pay attention to what i say in the video 🤣 my 6.0 was running well, did an oil change and added the HSS as a preventative measure, and literally within 5 minutes after the oil change the engine developed stiction. not rocket science to conclude that the HSS caused the issue. great that you havent had issues, but as youll see in the comments of this video, i am NOT the only person who has had issues with HSS in their trucks
Only thing about that is that Ford never made that motor that was international/Navistar the 6.7 was the first in house produced diesel engine from the power stroke family they had hands in
Could you put a link to the seat slammers that you used please.
I switched to synthetic oil the next day lifter baring went out sucked the needle baring's up the oil pump coincidence? i don't know but never using synthetic again.
exactly it might not have been the synthetics fault, but its not worth risking using it again to find out
Hot Shot was not the issue it only showed poor maintenance by loosing up debris and seals that needed replacement long before you used it
if i didnt have stiction before adding HSS and had stiction after adding HSS then HSS was the issue
Why add stiction eliminator if you had no stiction before
@@pvtpelnar11 so explain why i didnt have stiction before adding hotshots and had stiction after adding hotshots without indicating that adding the hotshots caused the stiction
@@pvtpelnar11 i am a mechanic and i do know what i'm talking about. you literally just proved my point that the hotshots freed up crud and caused stiction.....lmao
@@pvtpelnar11 i'm also heavily amused about how confidently you are commenting about the mechanical health of the engine in a truck you didnt own.....how many more comments are you going to leave before you figure out that your opinion of the health of my truck is meaningless when i'm the one who owned the truck, not you 😂🤭
HSS fr3 is great stuff! 6.0 running smoother than ever. Gonna try some stiction eliminater soon. Sorry to hear you troubles.arch oil worked good as well when i had my old injectors.170k miles and i blew a tip. Got them all replaced.
Appreciate the video. I just slammed my JT today. FYI people, this works on right hand drive vehicles too.
Hahaha all diesels are the same lol you a lame bro do some research
Lol my trucks got a daily undercoating procedure what was the cause of the massive oil leak
for me the oil leak was actually caused by a glow plug connector o-ring splitting
My EOT is 218 towing a small trailer
i would definitely venture to say your oil cooler is plugged if you are getting up to 218
I used it the hotshots it say to change it after 50 ,500 miles
def makes sense if buying brand new, otherwise there are some reasonably priced low mile used Rubicon's out there
See I’m having the same issues you were having in the video but my mechanic says my injectors check out and thinks I’m my oil pump? Like I just want my truck to run right what should I replace
make sure he is checking your injectors with the engine dead cold. when the engine is warm your injectors will run just fine, its when the engine is 100% cold has sat overnight without running that your injectors will act up if its stiction
Thank you for sharing. Nice truck.
Same with me ! Have the 6.0 119k miles all stock i added the hot shot secrets stiction eliminator and hot shot secret fuel additive and popped my headgasket
No it didn’t
I always used Archoil and it worked great. All I ever heard about Hot shots was negative
I always used Archoil because I heard nothing but bad things about Hot shots
I have used it on several diesels and gas. It is designed to help clean out the oil system. Which is why it works with both. Stiction eliminator has worked as it should for myself and others. All due respect. You need a more educated opinion before you bash a good product. It is definitely another issue.
well, considering my injectors did not have stiction, i added HSS to my oil, and immediately 2 injectors developed stiction, yeah it doesnt take rocket science to to conclude HSS is the culprit. maybe you have had good results with this product, which is why you talk highly of it, but i have not so i will share my experience, even if it is negative. all due respect of course
2003 is the key! I had an 05, it ran pretty good,it was studded and had a tuner, it was a great truck, also had aftermarket fuel system
And I stayed with Delo
I’ve been using Archoil for 10 years
Love 6.0 im on my 3rd truck with the 6.0 never used any additives. Motorcraft filters motorcraft 15w40 oil i do over kill and change it ever 3k miles. Only real upgrades ive done to any of them is exhaust, coolant filter kit, cold air intake and pipes. No chips no tunes. Never had issues.
sweet man yeah this is my first diesel but i've always loved the 6.0 sound over other diesel engines. this engine was mostly stock and so who knows how old the injectors were that were in it, i know it had the original turbo in it still. the new injectors and turbo have the 6.0 running like new! ill never touch tunes until i have the engine studded but i did do the blue spring mod to hopefully help my injectors last longer! only motorcraft filters (fuel and oil) for me too
I've run that stuff from day one on my 6.0L... not a single issue. I've put over 300k miles on it using HSS stiction eliminator every oil change. The issue is not the HSS... I would seriously look deeper.
new injectors fixed the issue as i stated, the HSS caused the stiction to appear. didnt have stiction before adding HSS, had stiction immediately after HSS. so for my experience, HSS is the issue
@omgbbqcia911 Well, you'd be the very first person to have injector failure from HSS. I'd reach out to them, and see what they will do. If they are truly to blame, they will make it right. They wouldn't be in business otherwise. 👍
@@CR500R im sure that there have been others that have had negative results of HSS, but also hey some people buy a vehicle and drive it 200k no issues, and some people have the engine blow before 10k its a mixed bag. if it was a set of new injectors that were messed up i may have reached out, but since they were injectors of a unknown age i took the opportunity to have both the injectors and the oil cooler changed at once!
@omgbbqcia911 Good deal! I recently had my injectors, turbo (KC Jetfire Stage 1) intake plenum (ODAWG high-flow), oil cooler, and coolant flushed. It was an expensive service. But these trucks deserve it. It's never let me down with the exception of a failed EGR cooler. But that has since been remedied. I use Schaffers like others here recommend.
@@CR500R yeah dealership hit me for just shy of $10k to do injectors and gaskets, oil cooler, coolant flush and fill with CAT ELC-1 coolant, and replace the front diff yoke. expensive but very worth it because it runs like brand new
Have both your batteries tested, check your FICM (fuel injection control module).. both of these will give you starting issues, especially when it gets cold.. When my ficm and one battery was shot, it would have to be plugged in or would not start under 50deg.. I got 2 new batteries, a new ficm and a new high torque starter off a newer 6.7.. Guaranteed your having one of these issues.. The ficm ups the voltage from 12 to 48 volts to pulse the ignition coils for your injectors.. If you put in new injectors, they will go bad and start acting the same in not so long.. Please have both batteries and ficm checked..!!! I made all these mistakes years ago with my 05 6.0..
batteries are new, and i monitor all major readouts including FICM voltage through my Edge monior and its in spec. changing the injectors fixed my issue and now the truck runs like new
Hot shot made my truck run like crap ran archoil and fixed it
@@hunterleinart9502 hopefully i wont have to deal with stiction for a long long time but ill def try Archoil when it comes up again!
I no longer use any additives, I have heard several of the same thing happen where they put oil or fuel additives and then all of the sudden problems arise. Good oil, filters, and fuel filters when you should are how the truck was made to run. I think it is probably the best way. They never factored in all these additives when they made the thing in the first place right???
Hate to drag on but I had icp issues and similar, unplugged and truck ran fine.
yessir i wont be using additives in the future. i did do the blue spring mod which should help these new injectors last much longer now that i'll be keeping up with maintenance and it is no longer suffering the neglect the previous owners subjected it to.
These engines were designed before ultra low sulfer diesel fuel was a thing, you need a fuel additive atleast
I love the grille, I just got the same one put on my 04 (early motor). Looks slick compared to the chrome and black, mine was yellowing on top of that.
hell yeah its a pretty sweet grille and has held up great even after a full year outside
New to your channel. Sounds to me like you filled your whole engine with hotshot stiction eliminator, hotshot is an additive, you put it with your regular 15w40 engine oil. I personally run shell rotella T4 15w40 and put a whole 64OZ of hotshot stiction eliminator in with my oil. You should always let a diesel engine warm up 5 to 10 minutes especially under 40 degrees. That’s my input, hope it helps.
yeah common sense is my strong suit so i wouldnt fill an entire 6.0 with 16 quarts of hotshot secrets. added the additive the same way
@@omgbbqcia911LOL
Are you using Schaffers oil?
i'm running Rotella. i put T6 5w40 in it for the winter to help with starting in the much colder temps winter brings to my area, but in spring ill change the oil and put the T4 15w40 back in it
@omgbbqcia911 OH OK. I use Schaffer oil and has been doing pretty good so far for south Texas weather
Fuck that noise you have disassemble half the vehicle just to get spray for your wiper and half those plastic tabs will break when you pull all those panels off and they wont seat right when re assembling .
